Honeymoon to Panama
Panama has started to become a popular honeymoon destination. There are a number of reasons for this; a big part of it is the increasing popularity of eco-tourism. More and more couples want to spend their honeymoon doing activities that allow them to enjoy the natural beauty of a country and Panama is ideal for this. Panama is still largely untouched by tourism and has some of the finest beaches in the world along with large amounts of rainforest. Another major appeal of Panama as a honeymoon destination is that it is more affordable than most of the more traditional destinations.
Panama has not really been touched by tourism yet so if you are looking to honeymoon in an area that still retains its natural beauty where you won't be surrounded by other tourists Panama could be a great option. A honeymoon in Panama is ideally suited to couples who are interested in nature but at the same time would like to be able to lounge on the beach or to take part in some activities. Panama has some of the world's finest beaches on both the Pacific and Caribbean coasts. It is also largely made up of rainforest or mountains so there is ample opportunity to get back to nature. Activities like diving and snorkeling are very popular as are tours of the rainforest.
Panama can be visited at any time of the year since the weather is warm year round. However it does rain quite a bit so most people visit in the early spring or the early fall since that is the driest time of the year. On the other hand if you don't mind the rain you can visit at other times of the year and you will get a better price and there will be fewer other tourists around. Unlike most other Caribbean destinations Panama does not often get hit by hurricanes so there is no reason to avoid the area during the late fall and winter hurricane season.
One thing to keep in mind if you are going to honeymoon in Panama is that the tourist infrastructure is still pretty basic. There are no large resorts in the country and most of the hotels are fairly small and basic. Outside of Panama City you are unlikely to find any five star hotels. The same is true when it comes to dining, outside the capital you are not going to find a lot of high quality restaurants. What you will find is good quality food that the locals eat. For most people who choose to honeymoon in Panama the lack of a tourist infrastructure is one of the main appeals so this shouldn't be a huge issue. However it is something that you need to be aware of since not everybody is all that keen on roughing it on their honeymoon.
